TM -The Descent

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mujk825LXk This film the "Descent" is within the horror genre. It has been hard locating an opening to a film on youtube. But I like the cinematography in this film. Also the font and effects which are used with the odd fasion reel footage are very nice, and I feel they are easy to produce. I may be wrong.

TM -Second post

Hello, Welcome to our media blog for our AS project. We have been assigned a task to make the first 2 minutes of a film. Our initial idea is to do a horror genre. This is because we believe that this genre is the most challenging and could have the most affective results.

SL -First post

Our initial thoughts are to create a film of the horror genre. We were inspired by some of the techniques used in 'Paranormal Activity', however we will make these techniques more original and improve on camera and editing techniques.

GD: Initial Idea

I had an idea to have a girl walking down a lane and walking back to her house. It starts in the day light with just her music playing with very few jump cuts used. Againt we see the girl walking the same route as the day before only it has become darker, the music becomes fainter and the slight sound of footprints becomes prominant and the use of jump cuts begin. Then again the girl walks down the same path and like before it becomes darker and the music is very faint and the footprints become louder and a slight breath can be heard. This carries on as the road becomes darker the footprints and breathe becomes louder, also the amount of jump cuts will be increased. You will also see parts of the "stalker" behind the girl in the relfection of car mirrors or puddles or from shadows the cutting rate becomes faster between the girl and the mysterious figure and just as the view thinks they will see figure it cuts to a news report concerning the girl.
Although this plot is cliche i belive that it would be realatively easy to create and i think it could be rather effective.
